The ‘Treasure lake – Laguna del Tesoro’ is located here as well just like Guamá, a settlement located on small islands in the middle of the lake, where the natives of Cuba used to have one of their most important sites, the village Aldea Taina. Afterwards we continue towards Trinidad, or rather the accommodation in Trinidad/Playa Ancon.

Day 2: Trinidad

Breakfast. City tour through Trinidad, which was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The colonial city of museums Trinidad was founded during the early 16th century and it seems as if almost nothing has changed since then. The ‘Villa de la Santisima Trinidad de Cuba’ has a medieval feel to it with its vaulted arch bridges, timeless medieval places, very well preserved buildings with neoclassicist and baroque influences. This unique city does not only enchant with its many sights and museums, but also through the proximity of the see and the mountains. The refreshing cocktail called ‘Canchanchara’ made of limes, honey and ice which is offered in the world famous restaurant of the same name is not the only thing that will amaze you!

Accommodation: Casa Particular – Private accommodation including dinner.

Free evening for you to stroll through Trinidad.

Day 3: Trinidad – Sancti Spiritus – Ciego di Avila – Camagüey

Breakfast. Then we make our way through the historic capital of the province Sancti Spiritus (World Cultural Heritage) and Ciego di Avila to Camagüey (colonial city). Along the way, we first pass the ‘Valle de los Ingenios’ (Valley of the Sugar Mills) and then the 45 meter high historic construction Manacas-Iznaga (Torre de Iznaga) from the time of slavery in the sugar cane fields. Afterwards we will have a short round trip through Sancti Spiritus. Lunch in Ciego di Avila.

Then we continue to Camagüey – The city of pottery vessels

The colonial capital of the province Camagüey is known because of its enormous pottery vessels and many old churches. It is home to eminent personalities from all fields of manmade creations and as the third most important city in Cuba, it has a historic city center that is one of the best preserved ones in all of Cuba. The extensive system of places, where each one has its own identity and uniqueness, form the structural element of the city. It is said to be the only city in Cuba that has a street layout that is defined as a shattered plate by experts. Short sightseeing tour.

Santiago de Cuba – The capital of the Caribbean

The city that was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage of Humanity is surrounded by a unique city layout that is characterized by a distinctive array. Surrounded by scenic mountains and bays, it was a location of big historic events. Santiago de Cuba is also called the ‘most Caribbean city’ of the island and it is the musical cradle of the ‘Son’, as well as the Cuban revolution. In July two important Cuban festivals take place here, the carnival and the fire festival.

We will go on a city tour on which we will see the Céspedes Park, the Cuartel Moncada and the house of Diego Velásquez, the museum of piracy in the Castillo del Morro. It then continues with a trip to the graveyard ‘Santa Ifigenia’ with its many masterpieces of sepulchral art, a national memorial where the mortal remains of national heroes lie. The greatest one is located in his mausoleum right at the entrance to the graveyard, the great ‘Jose Marti’.

Tour guide:
We would like to point out that the tour guides’ knowledge of the German language can vary. Especially during the main season (November-April) demand for German-speaking tour guides is very high. Therefore it may be the case that tour guides have knowledge of the German language but cannot speak it fluently. Generally English skills are very good, so there should not be any communication issues.

General information and program changes:
Please consider that sights, gastronomical facilities can close last-minute and without advance notice. In cases like that we will try our best to find an offer of equal value within the limits of resources available.

Regarding hotels, please note:
Cuba is in a difficult situation when it comes to hotels. Due to overbookings it can come to last-minute reservation changes. The hotels cannot be compared to the standards of hotels in other countries despite their category specifications (Stars) and/or the affiliation with international hotel chains. Due to the colonial construction method of many city hotels, not all rooms have windows.

Changes, fallacies, transmission or typos are reserved.
Our announcements, confirmations and travel conditions are essential for our offers.
